Meet Your Therapist
Angela James, MS, LMFT 80835
I take the stance that I'm the professional, but you're the expert.
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to view my site and get to know me a littler better! My name is Angela and I'm a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). I've worked in the mental health field for over 19 years with pretty much every age group and with the full spectrum of mental health concerns.
I've used this experience to target my areas of interest and build a more specific skillset. One thing I've learned is that I value an evidence-based modality. In other words, I prefer to use therapy modalities that are highly researched and proven to be successful. That being said, my focus is most commonly in two areas in which I've seen the most success: treating individuals who've experienced trauma and helping couples who are preparing for marriage or are struggling to overcome conflict and may be facing separation. I'm nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), a certified facilitator of Prepare/Enrich and have training in the Gottman Method, which I incorporate into our sessions as appropriate.
I would love the opportunity to discuss your individual needs and answer any questions you may have.
